Dr. Jenny Turner – Clinical Psychologist

Dr Jenny Turner

About Me

Hi, I’m Jenny, and I am a clinical psychologist. My specialist expertise is in supporting the parents of children who require paediatric medical services, and in supporting the parents of children who are experiencing emotional or behavioural health concerns. I also provide support to parents in their own right, with concerns regarding their own emotional wellbeing – this also might also be linked to physical wellbeing for some parents (e.g. emotions in the context of having a chronic illness).  The vast majority of my experience is in offering support to families, in the context of child emotional, behavioural or physical health concerns. I have over 10 years experience in various mental health and physical health services across Kent, Sussex and London.

I am committed to working collaboratively with you, to support you emotionally, and to work towards the changes you wish to achieve, for you and your family. As an integrative therapist, I am always drawing on all of my varied training, and I will develop a bespoke, person-centred intervention to suit the needs of you and your family.

Whether you and/or your child have a diagnosis of a mental health condition, or not, you are very welcome to access the services I offer. Whether a mental health diagnosis is currently impacting your family or not, I will target my interventions on the emotional experiences underlying your concerns – the feelings of sadness, shame, disappointment, happiness, joy, disgust, fear, anger, and many other underlying, universally experienced emotions, which are familiar to all of us, to varying degrees.

This approach can take us deeper than ‘symptom reduction’, to the possibility of real behaviour change, for optimal and sustainable emotional health – it can take us beyond ‘symptom reduction’, and towards a meaningful, purposeful life of thriving and flourishing, for you and your children.

I can offer psychological therapy for parents who currently do identify a particular concern, and/or I can offer coaching services for parents who simply wish to enhance their understanding and skills, regarding the emotional world of their children.

I welcome queries from Mum’s and Dad’s, Foster Carers, Adoptive Parents, etc., and I can work either individually, or jointly with both/all co-parents.
