Clinical Nutrition
Our Approach
Rob practises evidence-informed Clinical Nutrition using a systems-based, holistic framework.
Rather than isolating symptoms, his work evaluates diet, circadian biology and light exposure, trauma load and stress physiology, endocrine signalling, movement patterns, environmental toxic burden, and nervous system regulation as interconnected drivers of health outcomes.
Recognising that unresolved trauma and chronic stress can alter immune function, hormonal balance, digestion, and metabolic resilience, his approach integrates both physiological and psychological contributors to dysfunction.
This integrated model allows for precise, individualised strategies that address underlying drivers of imbalance rather than surface-level symptom management.
What to expect from a consult?
The first step is a comprehensive 90-minute Initial Consultation conducted via online video call.
This is a detailed data-gathering session where we investigate your health history thoroughly. We explore:
• Past and current medical history
• Family history
• Environmental exposures
• Diet and hydration patterns
• Lifestyle habits and movement
• Light exposure and circadian rhythm
• Nervous system function
• Emotional health and trauma history
Many clients are surprised to discover how interconnected their symptoms are. What appears to be a digestive issue, hormonal concern, fatigue, or immune dysfunction is often influenced by nervous system regulation, stress physiology, circadian disruption, or long-standing lifestyle patterns.
This session allows me to approach your case like a clinical investigator and identify the underlying drivers contributing to your symptoms. From there, I map out a strategic and individualised treatment trajectory tailored to your unique physiology and goals.
Your Treatment Plan
Following the consultation, I develop a personalised treatment plan that includes clear explanations, practical strategies, and relevant educational resources.
Lifestyle and dietary foundations form the backbone of our work together. In my clinical experience, these are the most powerful tools available for long-term health restoration.
If supplementation is indicated, it is used strategically. The goal is not to overwhelm you with pills, powders, and potions. Supplements are recommended to:
• Correct true deficiencies
• Restore physiological balance
• Support the body while foundational changes take effect
All recommendations are discussed transparently, including cost and clinical relevance. We work within your budget and your capacity.
If herbal medicine is indicated, I collaborate with Erin, our qualified Naturopath, to formulate and order your herbal prescriptions.
Testing and Pathology
Functional testing is not routine for every client. It is only recommended when clinically justified.
In more complex or chronic cases, testing may include:
• Comprehensive stool analysis such as GI-MAP
• Organic Acids Testing
• DUTCH hormone testing
• Genetic testing where clinically relevant
We typically encourage routine blood work through your GP as a starting point. If deeper investigation is required and your GP is not supportive, we can arrange private pathology testing where appropriate.
Testing is used to guide precision, not to inflate cost.
Follow-Up Sessions
Follow-up consultations are shorter and focused on refinement.
These sessions allow us to:
• Review how your body is responding
• Fine-tune your treatment plan
• Interpret pathology results
• Adjust strategies based on feedback
• Address new or emerging concerns
Health is dynamic. Ongoing support ensures your protocol evolves as you do.
Our Philosophy
Erin and I do not practice excessive prescribing. Unfortunately, natural medicine can sometimes earn a reputation for over-testing and over-supplementing. We deliberately avoid that approach.
Our goal is to educate and empower you. You should understand why you are doing something, not just be told to do it.
We prioritise:
• Transparency
• Clinical reasoning
• Sustainable change
• Client education
• Long-term resilience
The objective is not dependency on a practitioner. It is to restore your capacity to manage and understand your own health with clarity and confidence.
