What exactly is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic, evidence-informed system of healthcare that works with the body’s innate capacity to restore balance and regulate itself.
Rather than suppressing symptoms, naturopathic care seeks to understand why they are present.
Where Clinical Nutrition primarily focuses on therapeutic diet, nutrient physiology, pathology interpretation, and systems-based metabolic support, Naturopathy expands the therapeutic toolkit to include herbal medicine and additional natural modalities.
Erin’s approach is individualised and systems-based. She considers how digestion, liver function, hormones, immune activity, stress physiology, trauma load, circadian rhythm, environmental exposure, and emotional health interact to influence overall wellbeing.
The goal is not simply symptom relief. It is functional restoration.
What to Expect From a Naturopathic Consultation
Your journey begins with a comprehensive 90-minute Initial Consultation conducted via online video call.
This session is a detailed and structured investigation into your health history and current presentation. Erin explores:
• Past and current medical history
• Family history
• Digestive, hormonal and immune patterns
• Diet and lifestyle habits
• Stress load and nervous system regulation
• Emotional health and trauma history
• Environmental exposures
• Sleep, circadian rhythm and energy patterns
Where appropriate, Erin may also incorporate iridology as an additional observational tool to identify constitutional tendencies and areas requiring support.
Many clients are surprised to discover how interconnected their symptoms are. Digestive issues, skin conditions, hormonal fluctuations, fatigue or immune concerns are rarely isolated. They often reflect broader imbalances across multiple systems.
This consultation allows Erin to identify underlying drivers rather than simply addressing surface symptoms.
Modalities We May Use
Depending on your presentation, naturopathic treatment may incorporate:
• Herbal medicine
• Clinical nutrition
• Nutritional supplementation and compounding
• Emotional release and Bush Flower Essence therapy
• Homeopathy
• Iridology
• Frequency-based therapies
Herbal medicine is a core distinction of naturopathy. Where Clinical Nutrition may use targeted nutrients to correct deficiencies or support pathways, Naturopathy frequently utilises botanical formulations to influence endocrine, hepatic, immune, digestive, and nervous system function in a broader, synergistic way.
Each modality is selected intentionally and only when clinically appropriate. Not every client requires every tool.
Lifestyle and dietary foundations remain central. Herbs and supplements are used strategically to support the body while underlying drivers are addressed.
Your Naturopathic Treatment Plan
Following the consultation, Erin develops a personalised treatment plan designed to restore physiological and emotional balance.
Lifestyle and dietary foundations remain central. However, a key distinction of naturopathy is the therapeutic use of herbal medicine and additional natural modalities.
Depending on your needs, your plan may include:
• Individualised herbal formulations
• Nutritional supplementation
• Homeopathic remedies
• Bush Flower Essences for emotional support
• Targeted lifestyle strategies
• Additional supportive therapies where clinically indicated
Herbal medicine is often a cornerstone of naturopathic care. Botanical formulations may be used to support liver detoxification pathways, regulate hormonal signalling, calm the nervous system, strengthen immune resilience, or improve digestive function.
All recommendations are discussed transparently, including rationale and cost. Treatment is tailored to your capacity and preferences.
You will not be overwhelmed with unnecessary prescriptions. Modalities are selected intentionally and only where they add clear therapeutic value.
Testing and Assessment
Routine blood work through your GP is often encouraged as a baseline.
In more complex cases, additional testing may be recommended, such as:
• Comprehensive stool analysis
• Hormone testing
• Organic acids testing
• Private pathology where deeper investigation is required
Testing is used to guide precision, not to inflate cost.
Follow-Up Consultations
Follow-up sessions are shorter and focused on refinement.
These appointments allow Erin to:
• Assess how your body is responding
• Adjust herbal or nutritional prescriptions
• Review test results
• Refine strategies based on feedback
• Address emerging symptoms
Healing is dynamic. Ongoing support ensures your treatment evolves as your physiology shifts.
